Warm Winter nutritious meals
Winter is a perfect time for all those nice healthy warming foods which include chunky vegetable soup and nice stews. These are foods that are packed full of a whole lot of goodness for you and your baby.There are the veggies that is packed full of antioxidants which are great to add to soup or stew, and these include sweet potatoes, carrots, butternuts, pumpkins, broccoli, celery and baby marrow.
Make your soup a little fuller, bulk in up a bit with good quality proteins such as lentils or chickpeas. These proteins provide you and your baby with great sources of fuel, not to mention it is a great supply of fiber too. Fiber is one of the things that is always needed, and always welcome during pregnancy.
Enjoy your healthy warm steaming bowl of stew with a good helping of brown rice. Brown rice is packed with the very important Vitamin B.
It is always a good idea to have color and variety in your food choices. This is the key to provide you with a wide variety of nutrients, vitamins and minerals for you and your baby.
If it is too much work and effort for you to either cook a stew or a soup, make a nice big pot and freeze the extra portions for your convenience and your time constraints. With this you can keep to your pregnancy diet and nutrition plan more easily.
